ATLAS

ATLAS

Following two years of technical upgrades, CERN’s Large Hadron Collider is scheduled to resume operation in early 2015. Famed for discovering the elusive Higgs-Boson particle in 2012, scientists at CERN are hopeful that the improved atom smasher, which will boast double the energy power of its previous incarnation, could decipher more puzzling enigmas of the universe, such as what materials comprise dark matter.

(Personal Note:  I believe the Higgs-Bosom particle is a lock or locking mechanism of sorts at the sub-atomic level.  By interacting with this particle via the Cern LHC, scientist will in effect be unlocking the gates to Hell or "Tartarus".  Whether they do this willingly or ignorantly does not matter.  See personal note at end of this entry for further hypothesis.)

The particle accelerator has already discovered the Higgs boson, the so-called “God particle,” and when it comes back online after two years spent on upgrades, researchers suggest it could discover other kinds of these God particles, as well as extra dimensions of reality and the identity of the mysterious dark matter that makes up most of the mass in the universe.

In 2012, the atom smasher helped scientists discover the long-sought Higgs boson, which helps grant mass to all particles that have mass, such as protons and electrons. The Higgs boson itself has a mass of 125 billion electron-volts, or more than 130 times the mass of the proton.

Now, the LHC is set to return in 2015 nearly twice as powerful as its first run from 2010 to 2013.
“Doubling the energy will have a huge impact on the search for new particles at LHC,” said experimental particle physicist Gabriella Sciolla, of Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts, who works on the ATLAS experiment at the LHC. “The higher the energy, the heavier the particle one can possibly produce.”
One question I have is this.  Why use names like "Atlas"?  Atlas was a Fallen Angel or at least the offspring of one and is now incarcerated in Hell.  Here is a brief history of Atlas:

Atlas and his brother Menoetius sided with the Titans in their war against the Olympians, the Titanomachy. When the Titans were defeated, many of them (including Menoetius) were confined to Tartarus, but Zeus condemned Atlas to stand at the western edge of Gaia (the Earth) and hold up The Heavens on his shoulders, to prevent the two from resuming their primordial embrace. Thus, he was Atlas Telamon, "enduring Atlas," and became a doublet of Coeus, the embodiment of the celestial axis around which the heavens revolve.
A common misconception today is that Atlas was forced to hold the Earth on his shoulders, but Classical art shows Atlas holding the celestial spheres, not a globe; the solidity of the marble globe born by the renowned Farnese Atlas may have aided the conflation, reinforced in the 16th century by the developing usage of atlas to describe a corpus of terrestrial maps.

In a late story, a giant named Atlas tried to drive a wandering Perseus from the place where the Atlas mountains now stand. In Ovid's telling,[ Perseus revealed Medusa's head, turning Atlas to stone (those very mountains) when Atlas tried to drive him away, because Perseus, who went there accidentally and asked Atlas for hospitality, named himself a son of Zeus and a prophecy said that a son of Zeus would steal the golden apples from Atlas' orchard. As is not uncommon in myth, this account cannot be reconciled with the far more common stories of Atlas' dealings with Heracles, another son of Zeus, who was Perseus' great-grandson and who sought for the golden apples.

According to Plato, the first king of Atlantis was also named Atlas, but that Atlas was a son of Poseidon and the mortal woman Cleito.[ A euhemerist origin for Atlas was as a legendary Atlas, king of Mauretania, an expert astronomer.

2 Peter 2:4-5 (NKJV)
4  For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment;
5  and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly;

HELL - Greek Strong's Number: 5020

Greek Word: ταρταρόω

Transliteration: tartaroō
Phonetic Pronunciation:tar-tar-o'-o

Root: from Tartaros (the deepest abyss of Hell)

from Tartaros (the deepest abyss of Hades); to incarcerate in eternal torment :- cast down to hell.

Genesis 6:4 (NKJV) 4  There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

Chapter 13:1-3
THE VISION WHICH ESAIAS SON OF AMOS SAW AGAINST BABYLON. Lift up a standard on the mountain of the plain, exalt the voice to them, beckon with the hand, open the gates, ye rulers.  I give command, and I bring them: giants are coming to fulfil my wrath, rejoicing at the same time and insulting. 4 A voice of many nations on the mountains, even like to that of many nations; a voice of kings and nations gathered together: the Lord of hosts has given command to a war-like nation, 5 to come from a land afar off, from the utmost foundation of heaven; the Lord and his warriors are coming to destroy all the world.

This passage speaks of "gates" being opened so that giants can come through to attack humanity.  This will in effect be fulfilling the wrath of God.
